As we often do, we went on an adventure yesterday afternoon. Adventure is what I like to call it, even if we’re just a couple blocks from our home. I typically have my camera in tote, hoping for the right opportunity to come along to capture some of their personalities. To capture some of their sassy ways. To capture them being them.
We play, and I watch them intentionally. How they move. How they interact with one another. How they demand for me to watch their every spin. How they long for me and my gaze.
Gratitude feels me in the moment. It’s overwhelming actually. This moment of being home at this hour with them. Getting to watch them grow. Helping to shape them. Reminding them how special and loved them are.
Even though I love watching them individually, I love watching them be together. Nora following every move of her sister. Matching every spin spun. And probably a little jealous she’s not wearing the same flowy dress.
Finley can be found most often taking care of the little one. Getting her out of her crib in the morning. Grabbing her into her lap before they hop down a playground slide.
Jesus, thank you for them. I thank you today for the time with them. And thank you for these moments.
